The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District invites pre-readers and readers from birth through grade five to “Be Creative @ Your Library” this summer. The free Summer Reading Program offers children and their families the opportunity to share reading time together, attend special guest programs and earn prizes while keeping track of their reading successes.
Here's how to join:
Stop by any Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branch on or after June 1 to pick up a reading log or download and print a reading log. Keep track of the books you read from June 1 to July 31 on your log to earn prizes.
Here's how to earn prizes:
For every five books or hours of reading, you'll select a prize from the Summer Reading Program treasure chest. Keep reading and when you have reached 20 books or 20 hours, you will earn a gold medal and be entered in the Grand Prize drawing for a chance to win a $50 gift card from Borders. One Grand Prize winner will be drawn from each of our 24 branches.
Here's what you'll win:
For the first time ever, you will be able to choose the prize you've earned at the 5, 10 and 15 levels! (5) First five books or hours = select a prize from the treasure box; (10) Five more books or hours = select another prize from the treasure box; (15) Five more books or hours = select a third prize from the treasure box; (20) Five more books or hours = a gold medal and an entry into the Grand Prize drawing; For branch locations and hours, visit www.lvccld.org or call 734-READ.
