Free Fishing Day, June 13

While visiting the Pinching Pennies forum for Nevada (a must-do, y'all!), I saw this post by LazyBear with a fun free family activity:

Free Fishing Day, June 13, is your one chance during the year to get hooked for free! No license or trout stamp is needed for adults or children on this date.

On annual Free Fishing Day in June, anglers may fish in any public fishing water in the state without needing a fishing license or trout stamp. All limits and other regulations apply.

If you are interested in participating in an organized Free Fishing Day activity - check this out:

Kids and adults alike can learn how to tie knots, which tackle to use, and how to drop a line at Boulder Harbor on Lake Mead. This free event, sponsored by NDOW, the National Parks Service and several other agencies will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. The event will run to 11 a.m. The first lucky 400 kids between the ages of 2 and 15 will receive a tackle box and a chance to win prizes such as new rods, reels, fishing tackle and more. Adults will also receive tickets for special prize drawings. This is a non-competitive event and a great chance for the whole family to learn about the types of fish in Nevada waters. For more information contact Ivy Santee at 486-5127 ext. 3503 weekdays between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Send Thanks to a GI in Harm's Way & in Return Get FREE Address Labels!

Courtesy of the USO you can send a FREE Thank-You card to a GI in harm's way... AND just for doing so, they'll send you FREE address labels!

My hubby, as many of you know, is active duty in the Marines, so I understand just how IMPORTANT these little acts of kindness are. You really have a chance to bring a smile to a strangers face and most importantly show appreciation for all they do!
