El Pollo Loco Accepts Competitor Coupons

Did you know El Pollo Loco accepts coupons from rival fast-food chains? El Pollo Loco said the new program includes any coupons from other chains — not just chicken-only restaurants such as Chick-fil-A, KFC and Popeyes. Coupons from Carl’s Jr., Wendy’s, Jack in the Box and McDonald’s will be accepted as long as the printed coupon offers a discount for a “chicken” meal, company reps said.

Here’s how the program works: Bring in any printed chicken coupon from another restaurant and El Pollo Loco provides a special discount of:

:: $1 off any El Pollo Loco Combo Meal (if competitor coupon features an individual chicken meal/sandwich or entrée)

:: $3 off any El Pollo Loco Family Meal (if competitor coupon features a family chicken meal)

The bottom line: Any competitor’s coupon that features an individual (non-family) meal such as a sandwich will be exchanged for a $1- off any combo meal. So, in other words: you can’t get a $1 off any single, entree dish. It has to be some sort of combo meal.
