Changing Gears... Just A Bit

Although I do not make it a habit to speak about my personal life on this blog, you may have picked up bits and pieces via my posting. Why does she love talking about diaper deals? Because I have two in diapers. Why does she post so many restaurant coupons? Because I am only human - I love when somebody else does the cooking for me! You may be even more curious about me, but until now I have tried to keep a lower profile. However shifting family values (and the ebb and flow of life) make me feel that this post is necessary; I want you to know why I am passionate about my life and where that passion lies.

In a few months time my husband and I will be welcoming our third daughter (in three years no less). Needless to say, during this last trimester and into the first newborn months, my attention wanders away from everyday blogging and into "nesting" mode or simply "mommy needs a nap" mode. As much as I love saving money and sharing that love with you, I love my family much more. I have felt convicted these past few weeks to spend more time performing my most important roles - wife and mother. I am sure many of you can relate to trying to wear too many hats and then feeling like numerous areas of your life suffer because of it.

And as Jennifer has shared with you here on this blog, she and her family will be moving out of state soon and her focus needs to be diverted to making the transition easy on her family of five. She and I will continue to collaborate at The Budgeteer, but we have decided to slow down on blogging in order to shift the focus towards higher priorities in our life. Don't worry dear readers, we are not leaving you for good. If we find some good deals, we will post them. If you send us some great tips, we will post them.

After a year of blogging, I hope that most of you have taken some of the money-saving tactics to heart and have put them into everyday practice. I trust that you now are not scared of coupons or drugstore shopping. You pay attention to sales flyers and venture beyond Wal-Mart for your shopping needs. YEAH! YOU SHOULD!!

Now we will be be shifting the focus of just a bit. I would now like to take our money-saving-methods one step further: What are some of your favorite frugal recipes? How can you save even more money with menu-planning? What are some ideas of how to use up all of your drugstore finds? I would like to rely more on you in the sense of community to share you best ideas, deal finds, and recipes. The more sharing, the better we all are!

So please keep the ideas coming and your savvy shopper hat on! Also, I'd love to hear what features you definitely want to see each week; this way we can know where to put our energies towards. I can't wait to see what the next step holds!

I totally understand the change of pace, Sarah! And I have learned a ton about taking advantage of sales and coupons, and I am grateful for you for teaching me that. I wondered if you could do a post on some of the great websites that you've used in the past, so I can continue to take advantage of freebies, samples, etc. when I see them...
