Free Sewing & Quilting Classes in Henderson

I discovered Quiltique (213 N. Stephanie, Ste. E, Henderson) in the fall, when I had to take my Bernina sewing machine in for a tune-up. I instantly fell in love with the place, which is chock full of wonderful fabrics, brilliant quilting templates and ideas, and staff members who are some of the friendliest around. Although it is a bit out of my way, and I don't get there as often as I would like I signed up for their newsletter so I can keep tabs on what's going on.

This past week I received their latest newsletter and was happily suprised to learn they will now be offering their basic sewing and quilting classes for free. That's right - free! Quiltique says they "realize it can be costly to get started quilting or sewing. That is why we are now offering the basic classes on our schedule FREE, to help you get started for less."

The classes available for free are: Piecemaking Basics; Machine Quilting Basics; Beginning Sewing 101; Sew Fundamental; Binding Basics; and Garment Sewing. (I will also point out that they do offer other classes priced very reasonably should you be interested in another skill; make sure to check out their website.)

You must still sign-up to reserve your seat and cancel if you can't make it, but this is a wonderful opportunity to get started doing something you have always wanted to do (maybe your resolution for 2009?); to flesh out areas where you would like to learn more; or to simply take it as a rfefresher course in the hopes you might pick up a few new tips.

Check out their website, Quiltique.com for class times, store directions, and their contact information if you have any other questions.
