Walgreens - Week of 8/31

Well I finally had a chance to sit down with my Walgreens insert and it's not a bad week to stock up on generic Walgreens medicine. Most of the their selection is Buy One Get One Free (BOGO). Here's how to make it even better:

Go to the pharmacy counter and ask for the Prescription Savings Plan booklet that has coupons in it. It is free and available to anyone who inquires after the Prescription Savings Plan. I did this awhile ago and I had to speak to a couple of different technicians before somebody knew what I was talking about. But if you go through the trouble, it will be worth it.

Many of the coupons inside match up to the generic medicine this week. If you use the coupon when you buy two products, it will take off the savings amount times two, one per product. Then you will also get one product free.

For example: BOGO multi-purpose contact solution. Priced at $5.49 each. Coupon will save you $1 off each.
Two contact solutions = $10.98
- $1 from coupon
- $1 from the same coupon
- $5.49 BOGO =
Total price for both $3.49

Do this same mathematical equation for the following items which are BOGO AND have a coupon from the Prescription Savings Plan booklet: mucus relief tablets, ibuprofen, acid controller, and bandages.

Remember that Walgreens does NOT need to keep these coupons like they do for manufacturer coupons. Ask for your coupons back and save them use again.

Other good in-ad coupons
* $5 off Crest Whitestrips which you can stack with the $5 P&G Saver coupon
* 50% off printer ink cartridge refills
